We have an immediate opening for an innovative Switchgear (SWGR) Senior Manager, Product Management to join our team. This role reports directly to the General Manager. In addition to overseeing the global Switchgear segment of the Thomson Power System business, the Senior Manager, Product Management will have the autonomy to define the future of the switchgear product offering from a technology and strategic perspective while driving rapid market expansion and profitable growth.

YOUR MISSION

Major Responsibilities: 

Product Strategy and Roadmap: 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy for conveying technologies that allow growth in core and adjacent markets 
  • Define and execute product roadmaps aligned with business objectives. 
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to influence the product roadmap 

Product Lifecycle Management: 

  • Manage the entire product lifecycle, from concept to end-of-life 
  • Define pricing strategies and product positioning 
  • Monitor product performance, analyze sales data, and recommend improvements. 

 Product Development: 

  • Ability to translate market analysis and voice of the customer into executable marketing specifications for new product development 
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams to design, develop, and launch new products. 
  • Complete market and product requirement documentation for new product concepts. 
  • Ensure timely execution of product development projects. 
  • Familiarity with gated NPD product development 

Market Analysis and Customer Insights: 

  • Conduct market research to understand customer pain points, preferences, and emerging trends. 
  • Gather insights from customers, sales teams, and industry experts to inform product decisions. 
  • Monitor competitive offerings and adjust product strategies accordingly 
  • Identify threats and substitutes to product categories and develop strategies to mitigate impact 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and customer service teams. 
  • Provide product training and support to internal stakeholders. 
  • Quality and Compliance: 
  • Ensure product compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and certifications. 
  • Address quality issues promptly and drive continuous improvement 

ARE YOU THE ONE?

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in the Power Generation Industry (or similar industry).
  • In depth understanding of SWGR products and SWGR market dynamics.
  • Innovative and practical mindset with exceptional leadership abilities.
  • Must have a passion for technology, innovation, and customer engagement.
  • Responsible, self-motivated, exemplary work ethic, excellent time management and strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional Technical written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and have ability to interface with various cross functional teams
  • Ability to lead a technical team and effectively lead a stage-gate product development process.
  • Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel within North America
